Help and Questions

1. What are Talkies communication cards?

Talkies communication cards are durable 3D printed communication aids designed to help people express their needs, feelings and choices when verbal communication is difficult. They are suitable for autistic individuals, non-verbal or minimally verbal people, and anyone with communication challenges. Talkies are washable, waterproof, dirt and sandpit proof, rain-proof and child-safe.

2. Who are Talkies products suitable for?

Our products are designed for children and adults with:

  • Autism
  • ADHD
  • Speech delays
  • Selective mutism
  • Anxiety
  • Emotional regulation difficulties
  • Intellectual disabilities
  • Down syndrome
  • Stroke or brain injury recovery
  • Other communication needs with or without a formal diagnosis

Talkies are not intended for children under 3 unless under strict adult supervision.

3. What are the communication cards made from?

Our cards are individually designed and 3D printed using high-quality, durable, family-friendly PLA plastic. They are lightweight, reusable and made to withstand everyday use.

4. Why do I see lines or small marks on my cards?

Because every Talkies product is 3D printed, you may notice fine layer lines or small print seams. These are a normal part of the manufacturing process and do not affect the strength or function of the product.

5. Can I request custom communication cards or awareness tags?

Yes! If you’re looking for a specific word, phrase, colour or design, we’d love to help. Please get in touch using the Contact Us page to discuss your custom request.

6. Are your awareness tags waterproof?

Our awareness tags are made from durable plastic and are suitable for everyday use. However, while they are water-resistant, we recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to water, excessive heat or harsh chemicals to maximise their lifespan.

7. Can I purchase your products through the NDIS?

Possibly. Depending on your plan and individual circumstances, Talkies communication aids may be claimable through Core Supports – Consumables as a communication aid. We are happy to provide an invoice for submission, however approval is at the discretion of your plan manager, support coordinator or the NDIA.

8. How quickly will my order be shipped?

Orders are dispatched within 2 business days via Australia Post. Standard shipping is used unless Express Shipping is selected at checkout.

9. What happens if my order arrives damaged?

If your parcel arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours with photos of the item and packaging. We will assist you with an Australia Post insurance claim where applicable.
